1- Dome of the Rock: The octagonal dome is the Jewel of Jerusalem. Built in 691 by The Arab Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik Ibn Marwan. (available also as poster 20 x 29 cm). 

2- Al-Aqsa Mosque: The Third most sacred place for Moslems. Built by the Umayyads between AD 705-715.

3- Nativity Church:
Queen Helena initiated the construction of the basilica over the cave of the nativity in AD 327. The present structure is the 6th-century Justinian church. The fortress-like church is in the center of the city of Bethlehem facing Manager Square. The present entrance, the door of humility, is only 120 m high.

4- Holy Sepulcure: The most venerated shrine in Christianity as the burial site of Jesus Christ. Built in the 4th. century AD.

5- Nabi Musa Festival:
Mawsim al-Nabi Musa is a popular religious occasion in Palestine and it is also an important social event and a time for celebration and relaxation. The British mandate authority banned celebrations in 1932. The festival was resumed in year 1997, when this picture was taken.

6- Beitin Tower:
The Hellenistic tower of Beitin-Ramallah is thought to be the site of Jacob's dream of a ladder reaching up to heaven. Nearby is a Byzantine monastery, the remains of which are still visible today.

7- Lower Herodion: A large pool (70 m x 45 m) built by Herod in the center of a grand Roman garden. Water used to be brought to the Pool by a canal from Solomon's Pools. The pool was also used for swimming and sailing of small boats. The cylindrical structure in its center was probably a resting place.

8- Hisham Palace’s Star:
This monument was intended as a decoration for a window and it was placed in the main court by the excavators. It illustrates how the Umayyads transformed Roman motifs into Islamic motifs. The palace was built either by Caliph Hisham (AD 724-743) or al-Walid (AD 743-4). (available also as poster 20 x 29 cm). 

9- Tree of Life: This is probably the most beautiful mosaic in the country at the reception room of Hisham Palce – Jericho. (available also as poster 25 x 29 cm).

10- Dair Qarantal: Name derives from the Latin "Quarraginta" meaning forty. It refers to the 40 days fast of Christ at this mountain in Jericho. (available also as poster 20 x 29 cm). 

11- Hisham Palace’s Pool:
This monument is part of the decoration of the outside pool of the palace which was built by Hisham bin Abdul Malik between AD 724-743.

12- Tulul Abu al-Alaieq – Herod’s Palace:
Hellenistic-Roman Jericho (332 BC-AD 324) was situated along Wadi Qelt. Herod the Great built three palaces at this site.

13- Camel at Sea Level:
Sign indicating sea level on the main Jerusalem – Jericho road. The road descends towards Jericho, 250 m below sea level, and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth (405 m below sea level).

14- Gibeon Traditional Potter:
Old Palestinian woman from al-Jib decorating traditional hand made pottery before cooking it in the open kiln.

15- City of Palms – Jericho:
The most ancient city in the world is also called the "City of Palm Trees" and the "Garden God".

16- Sanctuary of Sheikh I’mar – Atara:
Maqam al-Sheikh I’mar was the site of the old mosque of Atara and before that the site of a Byzatine church. The remains of both are still visible today.

17- Tell al-Jib (Gibeon):
“Where the sun stood still" according to Joshua 10:12. The tell is situated in the middle of an intensively cultivated plain and is famous for its impressive water system, wine cellars and Bronze Age burials.

18. Colonnaded Street – Sebastia:
The main street leading into the Roman city of Sebastia.

19- Fortress Temple - Tell Balata:
A preserved Bronze Age Canaanite Temple in Tell Balata – Nablus.

20- Maqam al-Nabi Musa:
Maqam al-Nabi Musa is a splendid example of Arab – Islamic architecture dating to the Ayyubid – Mamluk periods.

21- Maqam al-Qatrawani – Atara:
The sanctuary of Sheikh al-Qatrawani is situated on a hill rising about 1000 m above sea level in the village of Atara. It is one of a series of watchtowers overlooking the coast from the Mamluk period.

22- Damascus Gate: Is the most elaborate of the gates of the Old city of Jerusalem. A fine example of Ottoman architecture of the 16th. century

23- Camel in Jerusalem: Camel at Mount of Olives overlooking the city of Jerusalem from the East.

24- Bait Rima Cultural Center
The tower is part of the Taha family compound. The house dates to the 19th century and gained popularity during the mid 20th century AD.

25- Via Dela Rosa: The way of the cross is the path that Jesus walked from the court which condemned him to the site of his crucifixion and burial.

26- Gethsemane: At the foot of Mount of Olives is also known as the "Basilica of Agony" because it was built in 1924 over the Rock of Agony.

27- St. George Monastery – Jifna:
The 4th - 5th century Byzantine church is still visible in the center of the old village today.

28- Jericho Tower:
The more than 9000 years old massive, round defensive tower of Jericho is at the heart of "Tel al-Sultan" the oldest city on earth.

29- Monastery of St. Saba:
Founded by St. Saba of Cappadocia in the 5th century, it was once a center of theological literature. This picture was taken from the Women's Tower to the south. Women are forbidden to enter the monastery from the tower.

30- The Quarry – Aboud:
The Roman quarry, west of Aboud is believed to be the site of biblical Timna.
Many beautifully decorated Roman tombs, olive and wine presses are to be found there.

31- Sheikh Saleh Fortress – Dair Ghassaneh:
The main door of the 19th century 2,000 square meter fortress was built of local white and red masonry. The wooden door and arch are nicely decorated.

32- Tree of Zachaeus: Named after the Roman tax collector of Jericho who climbed this tree to see Jesus upon his descent from Mount of Temptation.
